The Aussies

Why this name for your team?

The Aussies... for obvious reasons.

When and why was the team formed ?

We started flying together in 2014 and competing in 2016, we formed the team to push ourselves and just do and share what we love...flying.

Where do you train ?

First few years at iFLY Downunder and last year we trained at iFLY Perth, this year we will be mostly training in Europe.

Who are your sponsors?

We don't have a tunnel sponsor but we are supported by Deem Flywear, LVN, Manufactory and Skyhelmets

When did you start flying?

Tayne Farrant: 2013
Dave Hyndman: 2013

How many hours have you flown in the tunnel?
Do you skydive and if yes, jump numbers to date?

Tayne: Maybe 500 - 600 hours / 1000+ jumps
Dave: 500 hours / 800 jumps

What is your main achievement?

Tayne: I think placing in the top 10 at our first World Cup is our best achievement but proudest moment is any time I get to share what I love and see someone else equally stoked on flying as I am.
Dave: Main achievement coming 6th in world champions, proudest moment is when I see my students stoked on flying.

Why are you flying ?

Tayne: I have tried almost every sport there is, nothing compares with flying your body as far as the awareness you can achieve also meeting good people that share the passion for flying.
Dave: I love flying because it has an endless depth of complexity and creativity

What fascinates you about flying/indoor skydiving?

Tayne: I love the fact that there is no real finish line or end in the progression, it is just a constant pursuit to try and understand how we can move through the wind.
Dave: I am fascinated to see where the sport is pushed in the coming years, just when you think flying is reaching the apex some new techniques are developed that continue to push the boundaries

Have you ever been to Japan ?
What are you excited to see / do in Japan ?

Tayne: Nope. I don't know what to expect so I am most excited about exploring Tokyo and eating lots of good food, I've also heard from friends that the wind tunnel is one of the best in the world.
Dave: Nope. Excited to eat sushi and drive Mario Kart go carts through the streets.
